Problem: New York unemployment is over 10 percent and climbing, much of it to do with corruption, waste and incompetency.

Solution: Eliminate Albany corruption, waste and incompetency with active representation of the people.

Doug will use his engineering know-how and job creating experience to bring back jobs and fiscal responsibility.  A big part of this is fighting corruption to eliminate the "corruption tax" by gutting government waste, corruption and misguided policy benefiting the few but well-greased lobbyists and special interests instead of our neighborhoods.

Both the Assembly and the Senate have been reckless and want to bleed us with more waste by borrowing billions to pay the bills.  This is unsustainable. Their latest and greatest plan is to raid New York's pension funds in a "Rob Peter to Pay Peter and their Lobbyists" scheme.

Doug will prioritize for the community, bring transparency and fight for term limits.  He will divert funds going into the pockets of legislators and their cronies through full income disclosure reform.  This money can be used for maintaining infrastructure and local services like Schools, Libraries, Hospitals, Senior Centers, and Transit to keep us moving and at work.

Doug will also look for other technical cost saving approaches like open source software solutions for office applications and online content, energy conservation and green technologies.  For example, with open source software solutions, exorbitant proprietary licensing fees for out of state companies like Microsoft can instead be used to save local IT jobs and school teachers in our neighborhoods.
